ACTFL - American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is an American organization aimed at providing expertise in teaching and learning all languages at the level of instruction.

ACTFL tests classify takers in different levels, from novice to distinguished, through intermediate and advanced levels. Different abilities are examined: listening, speaking, writing, and reading. Communication skills are also assessed: interpersonal, interpretative, and presentational.
As of 2024, 13,000 educators have membership with ACTFL, spanning elementary through graduate education. ACTFL - American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages administers 700,000 tests every year in more than 120 languages across 60 countries. These tests are used by institutions, government agencies, and schools.
